It is a structured intake session lasting between thirty and sixty minutes, conducted by a senior advisor, during which we listen to your situation and identify whether we are the right advisory practice for your needs. We will ask about the general nature and scale of the capital you wish to protect, your primary risk concerns, any existing structures in place, and your timeline for any decisions. We will not ask you to commit to anything in the first session. The output is a written risk-identification memo we deliver within five working days of the conversation. If the memo identifies a basis for a full engagement, we will propose the scope, fee structure, and advisory timeline at that point.

What size of capital does Mercer Practice typically work with?
Our engagements are most suited to private individuals or entities with a capital position requiring formal structuring — generally starting from the equivalent of 250,000 lei and without a defined upper limit. The complexity of the risk profile matters more than the absolute size of the capital.
Do you manage investments on a discretionary basis?
No. Mercer Practice is a capital protection advisory — we design structures and strategies that protect and contain risk. We do not hold client funds, execute trades, or act as a discretionary portfolio manager. We work alongside your existing asset managers or custodians where applicable.
Are your advisory fees based on assets under advisement?
No. We charge project-based and retainer fees that are agreed in writing before any engagement begins. We do not earn commissions or placement fees from any product provider, and we have no financial incentive to recommend one instrument over another.
How is confidentiality maintained?
All client information is held under strict professional confidentiality consistent with Romanian and EU data protection law. We do not share client identities, holdings, or strategy details with any third party without explicit written consent, except where legally required by a competent authority.
Can you work with clients outside Romania?
Yes. While our office is in Galați, we advise clients across the EU on cross-border capital structures. All advisory work is conducted under Romanian law and EU financial services regulation. For clients in non-EU jurisdictions, we assess applicability on a case-by-case basis.
